Adding a new subproject
You can add a subproject to an existing project from the following places:
- on the original project’s project card via the Add new button
- in the project list, for the original project, from the three-dot menu at the beginning of the row (either by completing the details on the view’s rows or by opening the add action in a slider, i.e., a new window)
- in the projects Kanban view, for the original project, from the three-dot menu
Defining an existing project as a subproject
You can define an existing project as a subproject from the following places:
- on the project card Actions > Assign as a subproject.
- in the project list, from the three-dot menu at the beginning of the row > Assign as subproject.

Then, in the window that opens, select which main project this project will be moved under as a subproject and click Save.
Changing a subproject into a main project
If the link between a subproject and the main project needs to be removed—i.e., you want to change the subproject into a main project—on the project card click Actions > Unlink from parent project.
Subproject functions
Subprojects have the same functions as main projects, meaning you can allocate working time, tasks, activities, invoicing, and costs to them separately. You can also create subprojects for different accounts than the one the original project was created for.
You can manage each subproject’s invoices separately, or you can invoice multiple subprojects with a single invoice.
Displaying the project structure in the software
Project structure in search results
In the project list and resourcing views, you can choose from the eye icon how project structures are displayed:

Show tree structures: Main projects and their subprojects are shown as a tree structure rather than as equal rows.

Show whole tree structures: The search result and its entire tree structure are shown.

Show matches and their subprojects: Only the search result and its subprojects are shown (not the main project of the search result or other related subprojects).
Project structure on the project card
In the project basic information, it is shown if the project is a subproject. By clicking the Subproject text, a new window opens where you can navigate to the related projects.
Project statistics allows you to choose for which projects in the project tree the figures are viewed.
Project structure in the new reports
In the new reports section, each project is shown on its own row. You can use the Parent project column, for example, to group projects into tree structures.
